#LDNnudetech will be supporting Take Heart India
We're thrilled to announce our chosen charity, Take Heart India, a youth-run charity focused on IT education projects in India for blind and disabled students.
The charity was founded in 1962 and has given thousands of disabled people the required skills to start their own micro-business. In 2003, Lucian Tarnowski took over running the charity and established the IT education focus. Since then, Take Heart has built an IT school that has provided job opportunities to several thousand students. The school specialises in training blind students in IT skills and is now setting India’s national curriculum for the training of blind teachers in IT skills.

I have been involved in Take Heart since I was 9 and can say how far the proceeds will go in our IT training school. Take Heart is guided by the principle that “Work builds, charity destroys” and London’s entrepreneurial community coming together around such great idea is an example of that in action.”
